BACK TO DESCRIPTION RESTART

Strike Convoy sends you up a single road with everything on both sides of it trying to stop you. You drive, you aim separately, and the two are not the same job.

The hull goes where you steer it and the turret points where you tell it. Turning at speed makes the tank slide, and sliding while firing is how most runs end.

How a level goes

A level is two or three pushes with a quiet stretch of road between them. When a push is cleared and the screen is empty you get a lull: ruins, hangars and a radar mast line the verges, nothing shoots, and you have a few seconds to count what you have left. Then the warning comes and the next push starts.

  • Salvage buys everything. Armour, gun barrels, engine and warheads, plus the missile launcher, the laser and the helicopter.
  • Missiles are counted, not endless. You get a crate at the start of each push and the occasional one off a wreck. Run dry and you drop back to the gun mid-fight.
  • Switch weapons while driving with 1, 2 and 3, or the buttons in the panel. The laser melts armour but only up close; the gun always works.
  • The helicopter flies over buildings, trees and sandbags. It is free from level three, or buy it earlier.

Controls

WASD or the arrow keys to drive. Mouse to aim, hold to fire. Space for the special. On a phone, the left half of the screen steers and the right half aims.

Bunkers and command posts do not chase you. They sit on the ground, they are solid, and the only way past is through them or around them.
